I will be the first to admit that I'm not a lipgloss lover.
I've never liked how it felt, always sticky. I prefer bold lips and lipgloss was always too sheer. I have long hair it was for ever getting stuck, and all those reasons mean I haven't bought or worn a lipgloss for at least 2 years.
So why if I hate them so much am I reviewing a lipgloss.
Well to be frank, Rimmel's new Oh My Gloss' are game changers!
Being the lipgloss sceptic that I am I only picked up two for now but I'm sure I'll be buying more very soon. I currently own Snog and Twinkle Twinkle.
Snog is on the left and Twinkle Twinkle the right.
These gloss pack in some pigment, they aren't opaque but the colour does show up on the lips.
There is no stickiness, my hair 'slid' right off when it came into contact with this gloss earlier instead of sticking to my lips.
They feel moisturizing and very comfortable on the lips, dare I say it more comfortable than your generic lip balm. Why? Because it's enriched with that little wonder product of the moment, Argan Oil, plus a bit of vitamin E. The only thing I can't really vouch for is staying power I'm not convinced at 6hrs but the pigment does stick around a bit when the gloss effect has worn off and I imagine this is even more noticeable in the darker and more vibrant shades, this doesn't really bother me though as I'm a frequent re-applier of lip products anyway.
Twinkle Twinkle
Snog
As it turns out the lip product junkie that still lives inside me couldn't resist trying these and I'm so glad I did, congratulations Rimmel you have converted me to lipgloss after at least two years of not going near the stuff. I look forward to adding more colours to my collection.
Would I recommend? YES! Absolutely!
