The Sweater Weather Tag!
Hello everyone,
I feel like it's been a while since I did a beauty lifestyle post (it probably hasn't been that long it just feels it).
So I thought before Christmas really kicks in (I know a lot of people are already decorating and already in the Christmas spirit, me however unlike the rest of my family I am yet to see the Coke Christmas ad so I can't say it's officially Christmas. Yet. (I'm determined to see it before the weekend is out! I'll let you know on Monday if I was successful!)

As a fan of books like Slammed by Colleen Hoover and Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard, you can understand I was curious when I came across yet another teacher/ student romance book that received quite a number of positive ratings. Given I hadn't yet had a bad experience I decided to give it a shot. It was a bad decision I'll tell you that much now.

Happy Monday! (Not really because I hate Monday's I'm just trying to be happy for your sake!)
I know it's another tag post, but I happen to think that the concept behind this tag is actually pretty cool, so just go along with and when you're done reading you can come up with answers to these questions too!

Trailer Talk! - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!
Hello!
It's been a while since we did a trailer talk hasn't it. And since a new and final trailer for Catching Fire was released this week, I thought why not do a trailer analysis. It's only a short minute long trailer, but boy is it action packed and probably my favourite trailer of all the ones released for this film!
If you have yet to see it, watch below before continuing on.
Tagline: Remember who the enemy is. & Every revolution begins with a spark.
You'll remember my disappointment at the trailer for Divergent which was a similar length to this, well ladies and gentleman I can assure you there was no disappointment when I watched this trailer, just lots of screaming and fan girling!

Allegiant by Veronica Roth : A Review! **WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD**
This is the review I have been dreading writing. It's the book that I spent over a year longing and waiting for. It's also the book that once the ending was spoiled it took me a week after the release date to work up the courage to read it. Now having slept on it, I feel I'm in the right frame of mind to write an honest review.

The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer : A Review!
So it's happened again. I have now actually started and finished the two books I mentioned in my Series I want to start / finish post. Wow usually it would take me quite some time to accomplish that! (I'm a procrastinator or okay, so sure me!)
By that (and the title) you will of course figured at that today's post is a review of,

Tagline: Who is Mara Dyer?
So you may remember I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book after someone compared it to Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick. A series I have no problem admitting I absolutely did not like. It was also one of the books that lead to my abandonment to the Paranormal YA genre. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, I'm pretty sure is the first book I have read from the paranormal genre in a long time, I have routinely avoided them like the plague until now.

Preparing for Allegiant by Veronica Roth!
Hello everybody!
Do you know what today is? (Yes I know it's Friday but that isn't the answer I am looking for!) Today marks just 3 days until the much anticipated release of Allegiant! The final book in the Divergent series by Veronica Roth!
I think it is safe to say that I have never been this excited for a conclusion to a series, however maybe that's a bad thing because my expectations are set really high. I will be devastated if Allegiant isn't amazing given how awesome both Divergent and Insurgent are.
So today in celebration of the impending release date I thought I would do a quick overview post on things to know about the series that may be important to remember before we read the last book, if Insurgent is anything to go by Veronica Roth isn't a fan of looking back at events from the previous book like some authors, she seems to prefer to drive straight in to the story. (So bare in mind it may be worth re-reading Insurgent too!)

Wreck-It Ralph : A Review!
I promise this will be the last Disney related post. (For like a week, maybe. We'll see, don't quote me on this).
Okay so on Sunday night I decided to watch Wreck-It Ralph for the first time, again I'm not the best Disney addict in the world am I! Since in a similar way to Monsters University this film has been out for quite some time now.
So as you will have guessed/ deciphered from the title today's post is a review of Wreck-It Ralph. A very late one but a review all the same!

Mickey and Minnie Mouse Inspired Nail Art!
Are you sick of me and Disney yet?
I'm sorry.
You see my friends and family are getting sick of this new wave of Disney obsession I've been having recently so unfortunately for you all, it's seems the task has fallen to you to put up with me, besides I'm hoping a few of you out there share the same obsession as me, I know I can't be alone!
Anyway today's blog post is Mickey and Minnie Mouse (mainly) inspired Nail Art Guide, with Cinderella's castle thrown in there for good measure, since it's also a classic and well recognised symbol of the Walt Disney Company.

Top 5 Books To Movies Tag!
Hello everyone,
I am forever banging on about my all time favourites books, and my all time least favourite books. But I've never talked about this topic. Which books do I want to see become a film. Honestly I don't know why I haven't done this tag before.
Maybe it's because sometimes I worry that doing Tag posts are a little unimaginative and a bit lazy, but we're here we're doing this, I mean why wouldn't you want to know which books I would love to see on the big screen!
I can can guarantee you that not all of my top five favourite books will be on this list because some of them just wouldn't translate well on to the big screen or so I feel.
Speaking of things translating well on to the big screen, can we just talk for a second about how insanely excited I am to hear that there is a film version of Wicked! in the works, now that is something I would definitely line up to see!!

My Basic Writing Tips!
Hi guys,
So as many of you probably already know (and if you don't you will now) I'm an aspiring author and have been for a very long time. If you follow me on Twitter you will see me constantly writing tweets about how my efforts at writing a novel is going so much so that I got a #followfriday mention a couple of weeks ago with the description "she writes a lot" so yeah.
So I was thinking what post could I do today, and since I have just started the second draft of my 'novel' I thought I would share some of my basic tips.
Please be aware that I by no means consider myself to be a professional so take these tips with a pinch of salt, this is what has worked for me in the past, but it may not work for you all you can do is try! I wanted to write this because I'm forever getting questions of how I stay focused long enough to actually finish a full length manuscript well now I'm going to tell you what I do!

I would say that this is more of a general review. I decided to write it after I finished reading the most recent book last night. Basically the series I am basing this review on is the With Me In Seattle Series by Kristen Proby, which has a total of 5 books so far and 1 novella.

Fall/ Autumn Nail Art!
Hi guys,
Actually on time for the season this time, unlike my summer nail art tutorial. This is just one of ta few ideas I have in my head for Fall/ Autumn Nail Art so if this post is well received as I hope it will be, expect to see another coming up!
Since leaves falling off the trees is the most noticeable aspect of this time of year, I thought why not go for the obvious this time around. Plus it looks cute too!
So if you want to spend the autumn months rocking a cute nail art design carry on reading!

Simple Perfection by Abbi Glines : A Review!
Hi!
What's that no more books I did not finish? Well I've decided to give that series of posts a rest for a little bit mainly because I'm at Uni right now and therefore can't cart my book case round with me, making if difficult to track down all the books I didn't finish reading so, for now Books I Did Not Finish is over. I know you're all so disappointed! But never fear, I may slip one in here and there when I'm home for the weekend!
So instead today is a book review and a new release at that!

Simple Perfection (Rosemary Beach# 5)
by
Abbi Glines
Simple Perfection is the fifth book in the Rosemary Beach Series by Abbi Glines (other books in this series are, Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, Twisted Perfection and Forever Too Far). Simple Perfection is the continuation of Woods (first seen in Fallen Too Far - Rush and Blaire's story) and Della's story from book 1 in the Perfection series, Twisted Perfection.
Did that make sense? A little confusing but let's role with it.

The Mortal Instruments City of Bones Film: A Review!
Finally!
It's a post that isn't a book review/tag/books I did not finish! It's still a review but for a film instead! And a very popular one at that. So a little background detail yesterday (Thursday 19th September 2013) I finally got around to watching the Mortal Instruments City of Bones movie.
I know shocking right? Considering how excited I was. Damn my busy schedule that appeared out of nowhere when this was first released!

The Mortal Instruments City of Bones: Movie
Tagline: There is a world hidden within our own.
Okay so when I sat down to watch this film, my expectations (despite the epic shambolic Rotten Tomatoes score) was still very high. I had done no research in to what fans thought how much money it made at the box office, until after I finished watching it. In hindsight I probably should have done all that before I watched it then I wouldn't have been writing notes like a raving lunatic through out the film about all the things that were just wrong! I know I've made it clear that I don't like books to be changed all that much when they go to the big screen but I do allow some scope like I loved The Hunger Games and parts of that were different. But this was so far off the mark it just stopped being funny.
Warning this a spoilerific in depth review. If you want to read a none spoiler review on whether it's good or not, leave now. You have been warned.

One Tiny Lie vs Ten Tiny Breaths by K A Tucker : A Review!
Hi, everyone.
First apologies, I know I usually get my posts done and uploaded for 10am everyday so going by that this post is a little bit later than usual. However, like I said last week I have been busy but I am determined to keep to my schedule. Besides it is still Wednesday so at least I didn't miss a day!
We're still on track to keep up with the posting schedule I started in July, which quite frankly amazes me, I'm not the best at following through on my plans!
Any-who today's post is a review of sorts. And I just realised I have been posting a lot more about books recently, I hope you don't mind that. Any way, so today I thought I would do a comparison/ review of One Tiny Lie and Ten Tiny Breaths, both by K A Tucker, One Tiny Lie is Livie Cleary's story, whilst Ten Tiny Breaths is Kacey Cleary's story (but you knew this right because you know I love this book).

I enjoyed both of these books let's just get that out there right now. This is by no means a bad review, however there is one that I like considerably more than the other, but that doesn't mean that the other isn't any good. Books I Did Not Finish! - 16/09/2013

It's that time of the week again, Books I Did Not Finish!! I know you're all so very excited. Note sarcasm (especially in the specific case of this book, because the reason for not finishing the series is resoundingly pathetic go me!) If you've been paying attention (and by paying attention I mean you read my post on Friday) then you may have already had an inkling of which book/ series is being featured this week. Mainly because I actually told you. . . anyway slightly anti climatic but all the same this week I am looking at . . .

Now I first read this book near enough straight after I read Twilight and fell in love. Needless to say the girl who reviewed this book way back in like 2008 probably wouldn't like it as much if she were to re-read it today. Why? Well because that was the girl who read Twilight 7 times and is now whole heartedly ashamed of that fact.
Let's just get into it shall we?

Books I Did Not Finish! - 09/09/2013
Hello Everyone, it is Monday and you know what that means!
It's time for another Book's I Did Not Finish. This week I am featuring a series, that I'm not sure really counts. Anyway. It's a series where as usual I freaking LOVED the first book, only to be somewhat let down by book 2. Yeah that's usually what happens. Only I know I downloaded the ebook of book 2, I remember starting it but I don't remember finishing it, and I also know I haven't read the last book, so it's getting featured, and with a little research, I'm going to try and decipher why I suddenly stopped reading book 2 and if I will continue on. So as you can tell today's instalment is slightly different form all my previous ones!

Hello everyone,

Anyway it's time for another Instalment of Books I Did Not Finish!. And honestly I don't really know why I never finished this book but let's just go with it okay?!

Northern Lights (The Golden Compass)
by
Phillip Pullman
Tagline: There are worlds beyond our own - the compass will show you the way . . .
This book is an international best seller, it's also a major motion picture, so it stands to reason that since I loved fantasy books I would pick this book up and give it a go. In hindsight I shouldn't have because up until that point my experience with this type of fantasy book hadn't been all that great. So it didn't surprise me really when I put it down and never picked it up again.

Trailer Talk! - Divergent!
Hello everyone happy Wednesday the week is almost over!
Today I present a trailer analysis. And it's a trailer that I have been waiting for, for a very long time. Ever since set pictures started to be released (in fact ever since I heard filming had started) The trailer I will be looking at today is.... (well you can already see in the title can't you!)

Divergent!
Now I saw this trailer on Sunday during the VMA's, and if any of you follow me on Twitter then you know that my reaction wasn't quite on the scale of what it was when I saw the new Hunger Games: Catching Fire Trailer a while back.
Now have you watched the trailer? If not go watch it now before continuing on below!

Books I Did Not Finish! - 26/08/2013
Hi everyone, how's the bank holiday weekend going for all my British readers? And for those of you who don't have a bank holiday, I'm sorry, but have a nice day with what ever it is you have to do today!
For today's Books I did not finish post I will be featuring yet another series, I'm starting to think that I should just rename this whole segment as 'Series I Did Not Finish'. Because I don't tend to read a whole lot of standalone novels, and I'd usually try to finish reading a book if it's a standalone. But when it's part of a series, and I already don't like where the the story is heading by the end of book one, then well, I guess to me it deserves to be here.
However when it comes to this particular series, I'm probably in the minority when it comes to my opinion on this books plot.

Uglies
by
Scott Westerfeld
Tagline: In a world of extreme beauty, anyone normal is ugly.
Okay I'm just going to get this out of the way now because it has nothing to do with why I never picked up the other books in this series. But that thing above 'UGLIES' really pisses me off. Why the need to act like it's a death match between YA dystopian books? And anyway this book is nothing like The Hunger Games, so whether Uglies came before it or not, it's not in the same league, we all know that it's only there to drag in The Hunger Games fans, so if that's you take this warning, it isn't anything like the Hunger Games so don't go into this thinking that it will be similar, the only similar thing that could been as being similar is that it is a YA dystopia.
Rant Over. On to the review.

The 90's Tag!
All aboard the nostalgia train!
I saw this tag originally on Youtube were Zoella and Tanya Burr did it, and honestly though I was born in 94 there is still so much I remember about being a child in the 90's so why not come along with me as I reminisce about my childhood! (FYI there maybe a little story to tell along with some of the answers!)

If I Stay by Gayle Forman - A Review!
Hello everyone!
So how many of you have tickets to go and see the Mortal Instruments today or this week? Are you as excited as I am, don't forget I did a nail art design based on the Shadow Hunter Runes that you can checkout by CLICKING HERE!
On to the topic for today's post.
You may recall me mentioning or rather recognising on Monday that I had't really done a positive review of a book in a long time, that is unless you count monthly favourites (which I don't) so today to mix things up just a little I will be doing a good review.

Books I Did Not Finish! - 19/08/2013
Hello everyone!
It is time for another Books I Did Not Finish! Honestly I'm not sure if people actually like reading these, if you would rather I just did weekly book reviews so it includes books I actually like (because I know I haven't done one of those reviews in a while) then please do let me know in the comments below!
I was struggling to pick which book/ series to use this week, there is one that I really want to share but for now I'm saving that one. So this week I am featuring another series I did not finish. This is usually were for whatever reason I decided not to pick up the next book of series having read at least 2 of the previous books.
The Blue Bloods Series
by
Melissa De La Cruz
Tagline: They're Young, Fabulous and Fanged . . .
From that Tagline you can probably guess what this series about. Yep that's right Vampires. It is a series I read after the whole Twilight furore and I for the most part I enjoyed it the main characters name really did piss me off though, it was so difficult to deal with, Schuyler. Honestly until I went on the authors website I was pronouncing it in my head as shoe-ler but it's actually pronounced Sky-ler. Great then why not just spell it that way like most people do. Anyway on to the review and why I stopped reading it after the Van Alen Legacy.

Nail Art! The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones!
Hello! Everyone, it's Friday, Friday gotta get down on Friday. . . .
sorry...
Anyway I hope you had a good week and today in celebration of it being just under one week until the release of The Mortal Instruments City of Bones in Cinemas. Like the excited fan girl I am I came up with a nail art design that has an easy (sort of) version and a more advanced version for all us Shadowhunter wannabes to rock when we flock to the cinema next week!
I would normally insert a picture here but I don't want to spoil the surprise so carry on reading to see this cute nail art design based on the Shadowhunter runes!

Book vs Film: Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters!
Hello everyone, today I will be doing a sort of review of the new Percy Jackson film, whilst simultaneously comparing it to the book.
And let me just tell you right now, you thought the first Percy Jackson film was different from the book? Trust me, somehow Sea of Monsters manages to change even more.
Let's watch the trailer:
And let me just tell you right now, you thought the first Percy Jackson film was different from the book? Trust me, somehow Sea of Monsters manages to change even more.
Let's watch the trailer:
Quite honestly the first time I saw the trailer I was just excited because I had no idea they were making another one. But then I re-read the book, and the issue I had before going to see this film was that the trailer alone was enough to tell me how different from the book this adaption was going to be, and that's not something that happens very often.
Now then let's take a closer look at exactly what is different and whether or not I liked the film.

Books I Did Not Finish! - 12/08/2013
Hello everyone, it's that time of week again! Welcome to another Books I Did Not Finish! The place were instead of telling you about all the books I loved I share the ones that range from disappointing me to me out right hating them!
This week the chosen book lies some where in the middle of the above statement. Why? Well this book is a sequel. A sequel to a book, I very much enjoyed, you can read the review I wrote of book one here. Sadly the sequel did not live up to my expectations and so it is with regret that I have to include it in this series.

The Elite
by
Kiera Cass
Tagline: 35 GIRLS CAME TO THE PALACE. ONLY 6 REMAIN.
Like most people who enjoyed the first book I recognised it had it's faults, the world building wasn't great, it didn't really work as a dystopian (more on this later) and yes it was cheesy, but it was the cheesiness that made it enjoyable in it's Bachelor-esque game show plot for the Princes heart. Yet even in this the sequel The Elite some how failed.

The Vampire Diaries
by
L. J. Smith
Anyone who knows me can tell you that I loved the Vampire Diaries the minute I read it. I read it after Twilight, and was one of the people putting the 'Twi-hards' who claimed it was a copy of Twilight in their place by revealing it was published more than a decade earlier than Twilight. Yes I very much enjoyed that!
The picture above is my copy of the first 2 books The Awakening and The Struggle, yes it is almost identical in cover to Twilight, but honestly the story is better and far less infuriating.

Tagline: A FALLEN ANGEL . . . A FORBIDDEN LOVE
It's another YA paranormal romance! Can't really be anything else can it. I've said it before I'm a sucker for a good love story and when it's a forbidden love story, even better. The difference with this book is that the paranormal side is angels. And I know that's a pretty common 'creature' to use today but when I first picked this book up I hadn't actually read a paranormal book that had angels in it. That is why I originally chose to read it.

Trailer Talk! - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!
Hello everyone happy Wednesday the week is almost over!
Today I present a trailer analysis. I haven't done one of these for a while so I thought it was a reasonable time to do another. The trailer I will be looking at today is.... (well you can already see in the title can't you!)

The Hunger Games : Catching Fire!
In my last trailer talk post it was more of an initial reaction versus how I felt shortly after watching the trailer. Now I saw this trailer on I think it was Saturday, and if any of you follow me on Twitter then you know how excited I got over it so needless to say it has taken a few days for me to calm down and actually analyse the trailer properly.
Now have you watched the trailer? If not go watch it now before continuing on below!

I'm not sure if I ever told you that I hate History. Yes I can't stand it, it bores me to tears, all except for two Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. When those topics were discussed in history class you can bet your bottom dollar I was paying attention when normally I would be trying to not fall asleep. So this is a retelling/ re-imagining of the Iliad, it's an angst ridden forbidden romance with and Ancient Greek twist, I wanted to read it the first moment I saw it.

This or That Tag!
Hello Everyone Happy Friday!

Any way enough with the rambling, today I present to you the This or That Tag combining, beauty, books and Random! Enjoy!

1. Blusher or Bronzer?
I have naturally rosy cheeks so it would have to bronzer for contouring.
2. Lip gloss or Lipstick?

Despicable Me: Minion Nails!!
Hello everyone!
So on Thursday I headed in to Manchester to do some shopping for my holiday. Like the beauty junkie I am I saw that Boots were having an offer on where if you spent £30 you would get £7.50 worth of advantage card points obviously I couldn't pass this up. (Please note this offer was for one day only! Thursday 11th of July) So I picked up the remaining products I would need to create a nail design based on the cute Yellow Minions from the popular film Despicable Me!
So if you want to learn how to create this fun nail design just read on!

I HEART Summer Tag!
Hello everyone!
So this week in England summer has finally decided to show up! Okay maybe it showed up in London a while ago but I live in the north west and the weather has been really hit and miss recently, we've had nice weekends here and there but this is the first time we have had a solid week of high temperatures. So I thought I would celebrate the summer in this post, since it may be my only opportunity given how short lived a British Summer can be. (For reference last year we pretty much had one nice week in May in the north west, the rest was cloudy, with 90% chance of rain.)
So without further adieu let's jump right in to the I HEART Summer Tag!

Coming Soon! The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones!
Hello!
Welcome to the Wednesday post. This week with just over a month to go I shall be compiling the trailers, and plot to deliver to you a preview of the upcoming film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, based on the best selling novels by Cassandra Clare of the same name.
You may remember that in November last year I did a trailer comparison of two films one of which was this film. For a little back ground knowledge on how I feel about this film already you can read that post by clicking here.

Books I Did Not Finish - 08/07/2013
Hello!
Here is the second instalment of books I did not finish. Unlike my first instalment (which was a series) today's is just one book (though it is part of a series, I think it counts because I couldn't even finish the first book). You've heard me mention it before I have never tried to hide the fact I didn't like it.
It's about witches.
A sixteen year old girl.
Recently made into a film.
Can you guess what it is?
Say hello to the best-seller by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.......

Get To Know Me In 20 Questions!!
Hello again everyone!
1. What is your eye colour?
I have green eyes
2. Scary movie or happy endings?
I will only watch scary movies that involve gore. Is that weird? basically stuff like The Ring, or The Grudge that mess with your head freak me out and I can't watch them. The Ring still gives me nightmares. So I'll say happy endings.

Welcome to my Friday post, as I mentioned on Monday I am working on a posting schedule. I'm still figuring out exactly what kind of posts I want to do on my selected days but as soon as I have a schedule and format I'm happy with I will dedicate a post to it so you all know.
Today's post is something I have never done before. Because this is a blog that is based solely on my personal opinions on different subjects I figured it was time you got to know me a little better so here are 20 questions to help you get to know me a little better!
I have green eyes

Tag! My Top 2 Books From 6 Genres!
Hello everyone,
as promised it is Wednesday and here I am with another post for you all. Today's post is as the title says, my top two books from six genres tag. This is a tag that was started by Benjaminoftomes (click the link to see his video) in the YouTube book community. So let's dive right in!
Category Number 1: DISTOPIAN!
DIVERGENT by VERONICA ROTH
Look guys, I don't know how many times I've said this now, it's one of my favourite books, I couldn't not include it! So Divergent is set in a futuristic Chicago where society has split into 5 factions which are, Abnegation, Candor, Amity, Erudite, and Dauntless. At the age of sixteen each citizen will choose whether to stay in the faction they were born in or to move to a new faction and never see their friends or family again.
BLOOD RED ROAD by MOIRA YOUNG
I freaking LOVED this book. It was just plain awesome for once, the girls soul focus and attention wasn't on falling for a guy, it was all about saving her little brother. She didn't want to get involved with the guy because she didn't want the distraction but you know every young adult book has some form of romance so she obviously gave in eventually. I am yet to read the sequel normally I would reserve judgement but I can tell you now I'm not going to like it. Why? LOVE TRIANGLE! That's why, for the love of god, why ruin the potential of the first book by using such a generic and tired old plot device.

Books I Did Not Finish! - 1/07/2013
Hello everyone I am currently working out a weekly posting schedule that I want to stick with. My plan is to post Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I think that gives me enough time to plan and write my post's.
So until further notice Monday's will be Book's I did not finish.
Now I know what you're thinking. There can't be that many right? Wrong! There are a lot, but it won't just be books I did not finish it will also be series I gave up on. So with out further ado here is the first book I did not finish! (Which actually is a complete contradiction because it's a series I gave up on)

So with out further ado here is the first book I did not finish! (Which actually is a complete contradiction because it's a series I gave up on)
The Maze Runner Trilogy by James Dashner
I have never owned up to not finishing this series and I mean never. Why? Because it's so popular and so many people love it, it just feels weird that I hated it. I am of the opinion that it is vastly over hyped. I mean it's a New York Times Best-seller, that had to count for something, but apparently not. This book (Maze Runner) according to Good Reads is recommended for fans of The Hunger Games and Divergent! Are kidding me? Really? I love Hunger Games, I freaking ADORED Divergent (it's one of my favourite books) Maze Runner in my personal opinion is not in the same league as those two series, I'm sorry it just isn't.
So let's learn a bit about the book, here we go with the synopsis/ blurb:
"When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he's not alone. When the lift's doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade - a large open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don't know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they've closed tight. And every thirty days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.
Thomas was expected. But the next day a girl is sent up - the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.
Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind."
Now if we are being totally honest here that synopsis didn't make me want to read this book at all. It sounded okay, but nothing special. Yet I bought it anyway, I mean the first time I picked up The Hunger Games I didn't think it was my cup of tea and I ended up staying up until 5 am to finish reading it so I thought maybe it will be the same with this. I was wrong. The book wasn't even okay, it was mediocre at best I wasn't intrigued, the scenes in the maze didn't get my heart racing, I didn't find 'the creepers' all that creepy. It was just a plain old mediocre read that if I could go back in time I would tell myself not to buy.
One thing I don't think I've ever told you guys that read my blog (I may have done, things slip my mind a lot) is that I go through my book reading with one general rule. If nothing of interest has happened 100 pages in then it is not worth my time. I feel this is plenty of time to set your story and introduce your characters, I mean there has to be something exciting going on when you hit around page 100, and to be fair to Maze Runner, something did happen, so despite feeling a little bored I persevered and by the time I had finished the book I wished I hadn't. I'd give Maze Runner maybe 2 stars at best, if I'm feeling generous but it just wasn't one of those books that gripped me. Honestly I didn't even like the main character, he just seemed really annoying and boring to me.
Now then the other two books in this series, The Scorch Trials, I think I read maybe 2 chapters and never picked it up again. I don't know if I was busy and just forgot about it or if I made a subconscious effort to find something to do other than finishing reading it. Either way it sat on my desk at uni until I moved home for the summer where it has been sat in my book shelf untouched until I pulled it out for the picture.
So The Death Cure, I never read it. Now your probably wondering why I own it if I never read it. Well The truth is I had heard so many good things about this series so I wanted to buy them all I just never got round to it. Then whilst on my lunch break at Uni one afternoon I went into an outlet shop call The Works, they were selling the entire series for something ridiculous like £3.99 so I just couldn't pass it up and bought the entire series then and there. So I can't really say I regret buying them because I paid less than £2 each for them.
Now then I have seen on Good Reads (that website I frequent a lot and am kind of addicted to) that the Scorch Trials is the highest rated of the series. And honestly when I read the blurb for the Scorch Trials it sucked me in and I couldn't wait to read it, then I finished Maze Runner and because that one bored me to tears I could never really convince myself to read on any further so now here is your chance to convince me,
what's your opinion do you like The Maze Runner series? Let me know in the comments and lets see if you can convince to me buckle down and finish this series! Rest assured if I do decide to finish it you will see a series review, but only if I finish all 3. I can't promise I'll read the Kill Order too, that might just be too much to ask.
see you next time.
